Me Love You Lampang

We've officially arrived in the city where we'll be living for the next 6 months. Lampang is a pretty good sized city with a lot of charm. We will go apartment hunting tomorrow as well as get started with Richard Lair. Things seem to be going very smoothly.

After Monte and I left Phnom Penh, we visited the Cambodian coast, crossed the border into Thailand and stayed on Koh Chang (Elephant Island) for five days. Koh Chang is incredibly touristy, but it had some amazing beaches and it was nice to have some relaxing time. We didn't even get sunburned! We rented a moto and drove around the island and that was so much fun. Then we took a night bus up to Chiang Mai, stayed there for a couple days, and then came to Lampang.

The protests in Thailand didn't affect us at all. Had we not read the newspapers, we honestly wouldn't even know anything was going on. As I'm sure you know, the protests have subsided and things are returning to normal.

We're going to have more access to the internet in Lampang than we did in Cambodia, so that's encouraging. We have a new phone number, but something's wrong with it so we'll try to figure that out and let you all know as soon as we know. We will also have an address soon...exciting times.
